Weymouth's fame as a seaside resort goes back nearly 200 years to the reign of King George III, when the royal family spent their holidays in the town. The beach and sands are as famous now as they were then. Weymouth prides itself with winning the Seaside Award each year, with numerous attractions in the town. There is always plenty to do come rain or shine, early or late season.

Within a short walking distance there is a good variety of pubs and restaurants offering delicious evening meals and entertainment. Weymouth's shopping centre has a whole range of shops which includes some major stores.
The harbour is for many the heart of the town and the ever changing scene offers hours of idle pleasure.
